The VFW hosted this event. Local Rumford citizens were presented with silver stars for their honorable service in the Armed Forces. The recipients included veterans from WWII, Korean War, and the Vietnam War.

Nineteen Soldiers from 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne) were awarded the Silver Star Medal for their actions in combat in Afghanistan and Iraq. The valor award ceremony took place on Dec. 12 in the John F. Kennedy Auditorium adjacent to the US Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School building. Lt. Gen. John F. The Governor of Massachusetts, Daval Patrick is giving free cars to welfare recipients. It’s bad enough the taxpayer is getting up at 6 o’clock in the freaking morning taking 3 buses and 2 trains to work in order to pay for these peoples food, electricity, internet, etc. NOW, he’s going to be paying for them to drive around all day in a new Lexus blasting Ludacris from the freaking radio!!!!
